Another year is nearing its close and the Reid family feels blessed beyond all
measure. All of us are healthy and well - I'm trying to grow up really fast while my
parents are struggling to keep up. In reflecting on this year, we have realized how
wonderful it is to be blessed with the basics - food, shelter, a great family and
wonderful friends... and electricity too, which we had to do without for a few days
after our recent ice storm. Too bad I'm not in school yet or I would have had a few
days off. It is hard to believe that just a year ago I was taking my first baby steps
and now i am a fully mobile, jabbering, playful little boy who knows exactly what I
enjoy - working on the computer (spellcheck is a godsend when you aren't even
two) and playing with my matchbox car collection and Thomas the train sets. Uncle
Todd is still keeping up my website (which has amazingly turned into our family
web site!!) so if you havent seen me in awhile, visit me at
http://thereids.fateback.com I got my first haircut so you may not recognize me
without all my curls.
We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the fourth Reid family member -
Andrew Jonathan or Allison Ilene, to be born around the first week in February.
He/She is quite often kicking around in mommy's tummy, which I find both funny and
Intriguing. Even though my brother/sister is not born yet I love to give the baby
hugs, kisses, and even tickle the little feet and watch the baby jump around. I
can't wait to play tackle football with him/her! We've got grandparents lined up to
see my new brother/sister and to help me celebrate my second birthday so
Februray should be a whirlwind of activity. Then mommy will have her hands full
with us two little ones (though i've been practicing my big brother skills to help out).
I have already moved out of the nursery into my own big-boy room, all done up in
red fire engines - my favorite. Mommy found my moving unto my big-boy room very
emotional and she kept telling me how quickly time has flown by but I just love my
new room. Jon, I mean daddy is happy and busy at work (I often miss him and find it
necessary to call him on the phone just to check out that he is nearby). Just this
year he passed his professional engineering exam(Yahhhhh!!!! We're so proud of
him!!), so one of these days you may be driving down a road built by him - hopefully a
straight one!
We look forward to God's continued blessings next year and hopefully will be able to
visit with many of you when the four of us travel to Michigan in the spring. Merry
Christmas 2002 to all!
